So sweet! I’m curious. Is this behaviour typical of Anatolian livestock guardian dogs in general, or of June in particular? And are the other sheep as relaxed around June as Spud is?

A good guardian dog should be bonded to their flock in general. June probably loves all of our sheep this much but not all of them reciprocate like Spud and Hershey. Woody is another favorite, as is Petunia. Maisie and Hank are buds and Hank and Marcel were good buddies. Some of our sheep don't like the dogs at all and will scoot away whenever they come around. Daniel is one and PPPP is another. I am up at or around the barn a good part of every day. I have never seen anything happen that would cause those particular sheep to be afraid. June is very laid back around sheep and seems to have more friends than Hank. Hank was the first dog here and had a big job to do breaking them in. He spends more time in the barn with them now that June is here.

Awwwww! Interesting that Hank has chosen his preferred area and trusts June to look after things.

Oh, what wonderful photos of June and Spud. Sure don't see that every day in a flock. You have the most amazing animals and you capture them so well!!!

Awwwww. So sweet. Love to see friends being friends.........

Especially when they are different. People could learn a lot from Spud and June, if they were using their little gray cells...............
